FAQ: FAQ

WHERE IS YOUR CAMP LOCATED?

Reset Summer Camp programs are hosted on university campuses. This is to give the camper an opportunity to experience what life might be like after leaving home to attend college or just getting out on their own in an apartment. Living with roommates, sharing responsibilities and fitting-in within a social group are all part of our program design. Specific locations will be announced in January.

HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?

Reset is a 4-week, clinical program. We employ a balance of trained camp professionals and clinical interns to provide a smooth transition from the moment they arrive to their healthy departure.

HOW MUCH DOES YOUR CAMP COST?

In 2021 our 4-week, clinical program was $8250 for new campers. Returners and siblings receive a 10% discount.

Unlike other programs where parents choose the length of time, (usually from 2 - 10 weeks), we strive for a "sweet-spot" combination of digital detox, therapeutic intervention and some good old fashioned summer camp fun.  ~  Does it work? Check out our Parent Reviews page! - (International prices may vary).

WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW IF MY CHILD ACTUALLY HAS A PROBLEM?

We can help with that. Our trained team of assessment staff will help you determine if Reset is right for your child. In the meantime, you can read our handout or take our "Tech Addiction Quiz" to make your own initial assessment.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ADD, ADHD, ASPERGER'S?

Absolutely* - Part of the Application process is our 3-part screening where the parents are asked to share the details of their child's behaviors, medication and therapeutic history. Our goal is to ensure that every camper is properly matched to the program and to one another.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS SEVERE ODD AND/OR ANGER ISSUES?
CAN THEY COME TO CAMP?

Possibly, but that will be determined by the Clinical Director at the time of Application. Reset is NOT a lock-down facility or Wilderness Camp. If your child would be a better fit for one of these programs, we will refer you appropriately.

COMMUNICATION, MAIL & CARE PACKAGES

Campers call home once a week and can write as many letters and/or emails as they like. Emails from campers are written letters that are scanned and emailed. Likewise, parents are welcome to mail letters and emails as often as they like.

As for Care Packages, Reset staff will screen all incoming packages and determine suitability for the camper. (Believe it or not, we have actually had a parent send their camper an iPhone).  No food is allowed in any care-package as we strive to get our campers used to a healthy 3-meals per day routine.

We need your help to make this program work, before, during and after the camp program!

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS?

Yes, to a point. Our program food service is handled by the university's staff and facilities and we have yet to encounter a dietary restriction we could not accommodate.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH BEHAVIORAL ISSUES?

The camp Application has very specific language about behavioral concerns. We generally set certain expectations for our campers and our clinical team is well versed and experienced in handling a variety of issues.

That said, there are certain behaviors that will result in immediate removal from the program. They include; violence, drug use/possession, vandalism, self-harm, and so on.
